UU pleads poverty then wastes cash

Published 24/06/2015

I am writing in relation to the recent coverage of student places being cut at Ulster University. I understand that funding has been reduced.

What I don't understand is how the management of the university can justify cutting student places while they oversee such waste of money. A good example is the purchase of brand new stainless steel bins in their campuses. These are available at £120 each on the manufacturer's website. With such waste as this, it is hard to be sympathetic when they plead they need extra funding.
