The UUP's decision to opt out of a unity pact with the DUP is short-sighted and shows how totally inept and out of step the party is with the views and needs of the pro-Union community.
I do hope the unionist electorate in its entirety reflect this in future elections and place the blame squarely with the UUP's glaring lack of initiative, which will ultimately result in winnable seats for unionism going to Irish nationalism.
