Victims report took months

I found Gail Walker's column (October 13) quite annoying when she penned a piece entitled, 'Who Really Cares About the Victims?' Ms Walker is scathing of the Eames-Bradley report and sarcastic about the position of the Progressive Unionist Party.

The criticism of these two factions shows me that Gail Walker has very little knowledge of the complexities of the peace process or of conflict resolution. The Eames-Bradley report may not be perfect, but it took months to complete and consultation took place with every group involved, directly or indirectly, making it a very comprehensive report.

The PUP have always put themselves out there and took any flak thrown at them because they deal with the realities of Northern Ireland's troubled past - not the revisionism painted by so many of our other politicians.
