Violence deters foreign investor

Published 11/07/2011 | 08:00

I RECENTLY visited Northern Ireland to seek a possible location to establish a subsidiary of my company, which manufacturers medical electronic devices.

However, after seeing the reports of recent riots and other civil unrest, I have had to decide to relocate it in a much safer place, possibly in Wicklow.

I think Northern Ireland would be a suitable place for business, however I feel, at present, that it would need far more stability and better political leadership in order to create the right environment to attract foreign investment.
