Voters are expecting to be taken for a ride
Once again, on March 2, under the guise of an election, the carousel is coming to the village where we simple folk live. It is less than a year since its last visit.
Last time the posters were bright and glossy and full of promise, and we simple folk lapped it up.
But last year, following its departure on May 5, we realised we had been conned. Those involved in the carousel were shallow and self-promoting and looked on us as useful idiots who would provide them with a comfortable lifestyle with no responsibility.
On March 2 this down-at-heel carousel, masquerading as responsible political parties, will visit our village, but this time we will be ready. When they leave, we won’t expect anything, so we won’t be disappointed.
