We can sing from same song sheet

It was interesting to read the comments of Senator Gary Hart (Saturday Review, June 13) in which he called for a "common identity for the people of Northern Ireland".

Two ways to start creating a "common identity" would be to design a new flag that the majority of people are able to agree on and also a new anthem for Northern Ireland.

Many Scottish and Welsh people now see God Save the Queen as being an English anthem, rather than a British anthem, and so their football (and indeed Rugby Union) teams use their own anthems. Do the IFA and Northern Irish unionists just want Northern Ireland to be a Little England?
