We must unite to eradicate Belfast racism
YOUR report on racism in north Belfast (News, April 21) quite rightly highlights an alarming and growing problem.
Racist graffiti, threats and attacks are becoming an almost weekly occurrence, but with a united community, north Belfast could become a racist-free zone.
As a first step towards that goal, we are calling on all candidates – from all parties – who are standing in next month's elections to sign up to a North Belfast Anti-Racism Community Charter.
Such a public commitment would signal the political intent to eradicate racism in this area.
Together we can make a start by declaring our opposition to racist attacks, supporting our neighbours, making north Belfast a welcoming and integrated community.
