What about the wealthy elderly?
There's something odd going on amid all these outcries over costs of care for the elderly.
There is hardly any mention of the elderly who divest their assets (savings and property) to potential inheritors in advance of any need for care. Solicitors and accountants tout for the trade.
Why should the elderly get away with such overt avoidance of charges for care, when avoidance to obtain unemployment or sick benefits is so readily prosecuted?
I'm 80 and ashamed of so many of my once well-off, property-owning peers, who seem to be happy to end their lives scrounging on the taxes of over-burdened adults.
Those who haven't experienced a society where nobody cares for anyone, as I have, don't know what future they're leaving.
