What makes a BBC star, Mr Thompson?

Published 06/07/2010

With reference to BBC director general Mark Thompson's reluctance to expose the salaries of BBC’s “top stars”, perhaps he could enlighten me as to which people he considers to be a “star”, with regard to entertainment?

Once I get this information I will contact him and express |my views of what I consider makes an entertainment star.

I trust he spares me treating him with scorn should he mention some of the ill-dressed, unshaven, foul mouthed clowns employed at the moment that have salaries in seven figures.

Now I am glad that Mr Thompson has acknowledged that the public, that is, the taxpayer, people like me, “have a legitimate right” to know where their hard earned money goes, when financing the BBC.

But not only do I want to know what the stars are paid, I want to know where every penny is spent on those who control the BBC, right down to the lowly paid office cleaners.

As you rightly say Mr Thompson, it is my legitimate right to know.
