Nearly 40 years ago, one of the early consequences of the ‘Troubles’ was the transfer of responsibility for policing and justice from Stormont to Westminster.
In all that time, and for a long time before, Sinn Fein supported IRA violence with hostility towards police.
So what difference will it make if another few more months elapse before it all returns to Stormont, completing SF/PSNI rapport — a consummation devoutly to be desired?
