Following the recent shooting of a man at a filling station on the Albertbridge Road in east Belfast, what was the necessity and function of 20 investigators from the Police Ombudsman's office at the scene?
Is it another one of these organisations which are grossly overstaffed and had nothing else to occupy them?
Their presence was probably larger than the number of customers the shop would have during a busy period.
Surely one member of PSNI CID could have taken the witness statements and the report of the policeman who was involved.
If the authorities didn't want the PSNI to carry out the investigation, then bring a professional CID officer from another part of the UK; someone who would be experienced in such matters.
