Why does Gregory doubt Sinn Fein?

Published 26/10/2012

Unsurprising as it is, Gregory Campbell's bleating to the effect that the Londonderry UK City of Culture celebrations "must include all, especially the minority pro-Union community" poses an obvious question: why does he doubt it would be otherwise?

His party sits in a shared government at Stormont with Sinn Fein, in whom he has very little confidence of delivering fairness, elected by the same people whom he fears might airbrush the pro-Union community from participation in the celebrations.

As if he could forget the attempts to drop 'London' from the city's name, the actual removal of 'London' from the council's name and the 14,000 Protestants ethnically cleansed from the west bank of the Foyle.

It's not Londonderry you're in, Gregory. It's Disneyland.
