Why was there no state visit to Catholic church?

Published 14/04/2014

AS an Irishman working happily in England for over 40 years as a Catholic priest, I am astonished the president's state visit did not include any acknowledgement of any current Catholic institution.

There is something amiss with the Anglo-Irish diplomatic service, or with Aras an Uachtarain. I strongly suspect it is the latter.
