Wilson has no right to have a go at Irwin
I MET Sammy Wilson at a Coleraine Chamber of Commerce event recently and, like many in Northern Ireland's business community, I read with astonishment the Finance Minister's letter (Write Back, September 28) which referred to Irwin Armstrong as an "armchair economist".
I've known Irwin for a long time and, unlike Sammy Wilson, he has worked in business for over 40 years, including international industrial development.
Irwin knows from experience exactly what it takes to create jobs and prosperity.
The fact that the Finance Minister is being forced to backtrack furiously from his original statement does not excuse a personal attack on a respected businessman who has been there and done it where job creation is concerned.
