Wilson stands up to big boys with store tax
May I congratulate Finance Minister Sammy Wilson and the Executive for standing up to the big boys. Your article (News, December 16) lists some of the stores subject to the new tax. A fair assumption would be that, apart from local food produce, the majority of items sold in these stores are of foreign origin, sold at massive profits with an awful lot of shoppers' money going abroad.
I'd have some sympathy for the multiples if more products from the British Isles, or the eurozone, were stocked; at least indigenous tradesmen and factories would benefit. But this is not the case.
