Witch-hunt fears on abuse report

While wholeheartedly committed to holding to account any person, including health and social care staff, who abuses their relationship of trust, I hope that your article 'Health chief denies sex abuse report cover-up' (News, October 28) will not herald a witch-hunt.

In my long experience in social work, I always found Hugh Connor to be the most caring, hardworking and committed professional, who gave the very best of service to the public.

He would be the least likely person to perpetrate, or collude, in a 'cover-up'.

Should further inquiries become necessary, I have no doubt that he will continue to behave with the greatest integrity.
