Wrong to assume baby unwanted
FIONOLA Meredith (DebateNI, August 22) describes the baby born to the woman in the Republic as an "unwanted child" who faces "a grim and uncertain future".
The future of any child (or, for that matter, any adult) might be said to be uncertain, but why should Ms Meredith assume that the child is unwanted, or that the future is grim for him or her?
Perhaps the baby will, in due course, be adopted by parents who will show their new child love and care.
Would Ms Meredith regard that as a poor outcome?
