You wait years for a bus service

I MUST admit to being more than a little confused by the mixed messages being sent out about our public transport system (such as it is).

I read in your paper (August 20) that some bus routes are to be axed and then I hear a new traffic system is being put in place to accommodate pedestrians and public transport in Belfast's city-centre. So with one item of news, we are told that routes are to be axed due to low usage and, in the other, we are told that the city-centre routes are to be changed to encourage public transport.

If the buses were more reasonably priced and more frequent, people might use them.
