Your coverage of politics is 'schizophrenic'

THE Belfast Telegraph's reporting of political issues is now verging on the schizophrenic.

On the one hand, you lambast the Assembly for failing to take policy stands and tailor legislation in the best interests of Northern Ireland. Yet you deride Assembly members for voting to take different decisions to the rest of the UK.

Devolution means that Northern Ireland will legislate in different ways to the rest of the administrations across the UK.

That means our welfare system, defamation laws, carrier bag levies, health service delivery and criminal law will be different. This fact is only ever discerned by the Belfast Telegraph when it wants to condemn the Assembly.

While politicians have responsibility, so, too, does the media.
