All bets are back on super casinos

The super casino, a political hot potato if ever there was one, is back on the agenda.

The last Labour government promised one to Manchester, hoping it would bring in millions of pounds of regeneration cash.

But then Gordon Brown took over at Number 10 and subsequently ditched the plans.

Now a committee of MPs has said it should be easier for licences to be obtained, recommending councils, rather than the Government, should have the final say.
