Ritchie backs help for farmers

Northern Ireland's farmers could benefit from a new groceries watchdog which reached Parliament.

The government wants to set up a new office of Groceries Code Adjudicator to help suppliers who are vulnerable to big supermarket chains.

The bill, backed by SDLP MP Margaret Ritchie (right), was given its second reading in the Commons yesterday even-ing.
