The Commons was given a short talk on the culture and history of the Ulster Scots people by Jim Shannon last week.

He even had an Easter-themed anecdote for the House. "Hans Sloane from Killyleagh in my Strangford constituency invented milk chocolate," he said. "I used to love chocolate before I became a diabetic and I can no longer have it." He also listed the Martin-Baker ejection seat, the mobile defibrillator and Massey-Ferguson tractors as other Ulster Scots inventions.
