Will new aide be worth the wait?

Northern Ireland Secretary Owen Paterson will have to wait before getting a new parliamentary aide - his third in a year.

Conor Burns's resignation over Lords reform followed that of Stewart Jackson, because he had wanted an EU referendum.

It seems that the Tory hierarchy will take their time over the next appointment, to make sure it is 'sound'.

No announcement is now expected until after the next reshuffle - which is forecast for September.

In the meantime, Mr Paterson is sharing minister Hugo Swire's parliamentary private secretary, Gavin Williamson.
