So often a family tragedy brings out the best in people, and it is so inspiring to note that Terri-Louise Farren, whose footballing husband Mark lost his battle with a brain tumour, is to lead out his old team Glenavon for the Irish Cup final next month when the club play Linfield.

This will be a poignant moment for everyone concerned, particularly as Mark led out the Lurgan men for the final two years ago.

Mark's great loves were his wife and football itself, and Terri-Louise's appearance at this year's showpiece will be a fitting tribute to a fine footballer and to a good - and greatly missed - man.
