Editor's Viewpoint: A modern mouthful

Viewers - particularly those from other regions of the UK - tuning into Channel 4's cult show, Come Dine With Me, this week have been experiencing a very different view of Belfast. For the participants certainly don't conform to the Northern Irish stereotype.
Where viewers might have expected some hands-across-the-sectarian-divide exchanges or dour provincial guests, they got instead a female impersonator, a Jamaican lifeguard who is a bit of a ladies man and a glamorous female Merchant Navy officer among those at the table.
Now that is an image of Belfast that takes some swallowing.
