Editor's Viewpoint: Daisy is top dog

Daisy the St Bernard has a face everyone, it seems, loves. For when her picture was published in this newspaper last week, the Co Londonderry stray dogs' home where she had been brought was inundated with callers wanting to take her home.

She is now with her new owners and apparently settling in well. It's a doggy tale with a happy ending for Daisy, but there are many other dogs in the province which have been abandoned and which need new homes.

Maybe some of those who wanted to adopt Daisy will continue seeking another pet.
