Pancake Day at the Little Pink Kitchen

Pancake Tuesday is on its way and at the Little Pink Kitchen, Sarah is cooking up some flippin’ great recipes! Let us show you how to make the fluffiest pancakes and then adorn them with delicious hot caramelised apples or tasty bacon with maple syrup.

Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of Self Raising Flour
  • 1 cup of Milk
  • 1 x Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Essence

Method

  • Take one 1 cup of self raising flour and put in a bowl
  • Crack in one egg to the bowl
  • Add one cup of milk
  • And Add a Teaspoon of Vanilla Essence to the mixture
  • Whisk up the mixture until there is no lumps of flour left and there are some bubbles on top
  • Take a non stick frying pan and put on a medium heat
  • Then take a large serving spoon to measure the pancakes out in the pan
  • Wait for bubbles to appear on the top of a pancakes to know that the pancake is ready to be flipped and then cook on other side

 

Caramelised apples

Ingredients

  • 50 grams Butter
  • 2 tbs Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 chopped Apple
  • Crème Fraiche

Method

  • Take your butter and put in your frying pan
  • Add the brown sugar to the butter until it is all mixed in
  • Then add your apple and mix them in, and cook for about 4 – 5 minutes
  • After this it is ready to put your topping on your pancakes and serve up
