For the first time in my life, I voted non-unionist. I was one of the 3.3% who voted Green - as a protest against the DUP campaign.
Firstly, there wasn't a significant mention of policies in their campaign - it seemed to me to be all about keeping SF down - they are here now, it's a bit late for posturing. Accept it.
Secondly, are the Dodds and the Robinsons trying to take over politics altogether? Let someone else in.
Jim Allister did a lot of damage to the establishment - good for him.

Just to say how thrilled I am to see this morning that the Cup is back on the Shore Road after a 41 years' wait. As I saw those two finals in the sixties but will probably never see the Crues play 'live' again, what with living in Spain, this is a dream come true for me, and all I want to do is congratulate everybody, players, coaches and fans, for putting the Crues back where they belong, at the top! Bring on the big boys in Europe, the 'wee Crues are back!

Biblical principles: (1) Christ commanded us to be baptized (John 3:5) “…to fulfill all righteousness.” (Matt. 3:15), (2) Jesus doesn’t change (Heb. 13:8), (3) God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34) (see also I Pet. 4:6), (4) God loves all, & wants to save, not condemn, us, (John 3:16-17), (5) Baptism for the dead is Biblical (I Cor. 15:29), (6) Christ’s atonement is universal in hope/ potential for all, & (7) Mal. 4:5-6 prophecy is closely intertwined with baptism for the dead. Mormon teachings are consistent with, & fulfill, all of the above.

Wow, what a skillful way he has of getting people to swallow an article full of subtle religion bashing. Based on the number of comments, I guess he’s doing quite well. He does a tremendous job of making the whole idea of religion sound ridiculous – a regular modern-day Sherem. But then again, I suppose one could also make breathing sound ridiculous if he put his mind to it. Fortunately, that doesn’t prove anything…

What an outstanding hypocrisy: Hamas has been democratically elected, so why should we neglect its legitimacy? In our western opinion, this regime does not serve the people of Gaza’s interest, but we need to respect the people’s self-determination. On the other hand, if the repeated damages and deaths caused by the rockets in Sderot have to be considered as an aggression, they do not justify such a response. Finally, if it has been acknowledged that poverty leads to extremism, then why do the Palestinians still face check-points in their own territory? Why is it so difficult and slow to bring goods and services into Palestine? Now even journalists are not allowed to access Gaza. Since the last intifada, Israel internal security has constantly increased while both Palestinian employment and welfare decreased. The real peace incentive is a genuine economic partnership, binding both sides with a common interest: trade. But do we really want peace?

You are totally right! Global Warming is the biggest hoax, con, fraud to be perpetrated on gullable, stupid, uninformed people. 2008 is the coldest, wettest, year in the past 70 years! It gave Al Gore a Nobel Peace prize, and multimillions and gives government an excuse to grow larger, more regulations, more taxes, more massive, and out of control. Wake up people - liberals are the fascists - they create crisis to generate government control.
Either do some research or let's go beyond the cattle/sheep flatulence tax and tax human flatulence as well! It's all bloody ridiculous!

If I plan on traveling soon but only to the next state do you think it would be cheaper to drive than fly due to low gas prices? Do you know of a site with a calculator on it?

What happened cannot be reversed. We must learn from this incident. Prevention is the key. We have to persue and hit the cowards that send these punks hard. We have to change our laxed attitudes and be very vigilant and always on the look out.
India must put in place a rapid anti-terrorist response team. I saw over 4 different very un-coordinated groups including the Army all trying to flash out the terrorists. In this case they should have sent in armed robots (if they do not have them, they should include them in their arsenal) to sweep the rooms floor by floor. in the future if any of these punks are captured alive, do not publicize it. We have to sap all the info from them and respond thunderously to the people that plan, finance and send these punks over. At this point I would order Pakistan to close all the known bases that sponsor, train, finance, feed...food and brainwash these people or face the wrath of the world. Enough is enough. This is a threat to the world's security.

I live in Japan, and I can honestly say that the majority of Japanese baby their pets. Monkeys as domestic pets are certainly not the norm, but it seems these particular primates are at least enjoying their interaction with the humans in the restaurant.

I am against any sort of animal cruelty and cages, and generally dislike zoos for that reason, but as for animals being used for utilitarian purposes - well, I think of mules, horses, mushing and search & rescue dogs, police canines, camels, alpacas, etc, SO I have no problem with this unique idea as long as Otsuka-san doesn't incur any of the above-mentioned conditions AND as long as these Macaques were already born into domesticated conditions.

Where are all the complaints about all the neglected, chained dogs people have as "pets"? - There's a rampant problem!

Would a Macaques be happier & healthy in nature? Dangerous as nature can be, yes, animals are absolutely happier and healthier in their natural surrounding

Obama seemed to do rather well regardless of what others are saying. Clearly, most of Texas seems to vote Republican so why wouldn't they want to believe that McCain did better. Senator McCain came off as stiff and rude. If Obama's polls have risen it is simply because his views on important issues and choice of Biden as a Vice President are much better than McCains'.

Gritty, moving and heroic...Billy plays captured life here

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times ... Sunday's 30th anniversary screening of the seminal Too Late to Talk to Billy was riveting viewing. But it wasn't nostalgic viewing.

Scary movie? Their jaws were sore from laughing

Teenage boys love horror films and I have two who are in charge of the remote control in our house, so naturally there’s gore-a-plenty on the box most weekends. However, until recently one film was banned.
