Glenn Allen

Glenn Allen had a happy Easter as he led from start to finish.

Glenn Allen increased his lead at the top of the Northern Ireland championship with his comfortable win on the national rally which ran alongside the UAC Easter International at the weekend.

The Cookstown driver won by a margin of more than a minute to record his second successive win of the season and extend his lead at the top of the Pacesnotes sponsored series to four points.

Allen led from start to finish in his Toyota Corolla to see off the challenge of Raymond Johnston who took second place in his Subaru with Stephen Moore finishing a distant third in his Ford Focus.

In fact, Moore, winner of the opening round of the championship, was just one second ahead of the Group N production category winner Neil McCance who finished fourth in his Mitsubishi Lancer.

Alastair Fisher, nephew of Irish rally legend Bertie Fisher, moved into second place in the Ford Fiesta ST Challenge after the second round of the series on the Easter International.

The 19-year-old from Enniskillen finished in second place, beaten by just eight seconds by Donegal's Conor Harvey who now leads the Challenge series.

Third and fourth places went to the Carryduff brothers, Jonathan and Barry Greer, but first round winner Tadgh Buckley lost out when the engine of his Fiesta cut out for three minutes on the Barnes Gap stage.

Another Fermanagh driver, William Mavitty, and co-driver Mark Ammonds were lucky to escape without serious injury when their Fiesta went careering off the road and down a 100ft drop at Barnes Gap.

Harvey now leads the series on 55 points to Fisher's 47 going into round three in Killarney at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Sean Treacy won the historic section of the Easter International, his BMW 2002 finishing more than a minute ahead of the Porsche of Manxman Adrian Kermode.
