Belfast Giants back on top of the Elite League after beating Manchester Storm

Mike Radja scored the only goal of the shootout as Belfast Giants returned to the top of the Elite League standings with a 2-1 Elite League victory over Manchester Storm.

Ricards Birzinsh opened the scoring 3:45 into the contest but the Giants drew level just 41 seconds into the second period when Colin Shields scored his ninth goal of the season on the powerplay.

Neither side could find a winner to send the game into the shootout and after each side came up blank following nine attempts each Radja finally beat Zane Kalemba to earn the extra point.

Craig McCallum scored a hat-trick and added an assist to lead Edinburgh Capitals to a 7-5 victory over Sheffield Steelers, while two goals from Lou Dickenson helped Dundee Stars to a 6-3 win over Fife Flyers.
