Conlan boost with McGregor in his corner
Belfast boxer Michael Conlan has hit New York, and the 25-year old has vowed to make his professional debut a hit show, Broadway-style.
At his press conference yesterday, the former Commonwealth Games champion revealed he would be accompanied on his ring walk by Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor.
It's a match made for thrill-hungry Big Apple fight fans, full of attitude with Conlan, who launched an expletive-laden tirade after his Rio Olympic defeat, flanked by the 'notorious' McGregor.
Conlan will square off against Colorado native Tim Ibarra at Madison Square Garden, and the Northern Irishman says he's going to make the trip to NYC worthwhile.
"I'm going to make a show, and make entertainment for boxing again," he declared.
