Frampton v Quigg... the fight we all wanted to see... Manchester, Feb 27
Carl Frampton will finally face bitter rival Scott Quigg on February 27 at the Manchester Arena in a multi-million pound showdown.
The overall purses for both fighters will be determined by the pay-per-view sales for the IBF and WBA World super-bantamweight title unification battle, which will be shown on Sky Box Office.
Both men have been craving the fight for years and last night promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that he had come to an agreement with Cyclone Promotions CEO Barry McGuigan for the fight to take place, following months of negotiations.
Earlier this year IBF World champion Frampton had turned down a £1.5m offer from Hearn to face Quigg in the summer and the Jackal said: "That decision has been justified because I'm going to make a lot more out of this fight now.
"I'm just glad the deal is done and can't wait for the fight.
"I think Scott is a good fighter and I think he has improved and he's a big puncher, a dangerous puncher but I'll do whatever it takes to win." Hearn made it clear that the 20,000 capacity arena would be "split in half" for both sets of supporters, with the Matchroom boxing boss expecting thousands to travel across from Northern Ireland.
