'We'll triple the pay of The Jackal' - Carl Frampton's mega-offer from Eddie Hearn
Promoter Eddie Hearn says he has made Carl Frampton "a fantastic offer" to fight WBA World super-bantamweight champion Scott Quigg in March next year.
The Matchroom Boxing boss has revealed to the Belfast Telegraph that the purse he is offering European champion Frampton – who defends his belt on Saturday night at the Odyssey Arena against Frenchman Jeremy Parodi – is "three times what he has ever earned before" and is understood to be in the region of £250-300,000.
The rivalry between 'The Jackal' and Quigg has been growing and growing and Hearn, who previously promoted Frampton, said: "The offer has been made with the view that the fight would take place in Manchester and be on Sky TV.
"It's a fight that all British boxing fans want to see and the offer I have made to Frampton's promoter is three times what he has earned before and it's a purse that he wouldn't get anywhere else in the world for fighting for a World title.
"So if Carl is serious about fighting Scott Quigg then I don't see how he can turn it down. They have said they'll talk after Carl's fight at the weekend which is understandable."
Hearn added that the offer would not be on the table forever as he is already putting in place a contingency plan for Quigg.
