Cardiff Devils return to winning ways

Elite League leaders Cardiff Devils bounced back from just their second defeat of the season to edge past Nottingham Panthers 2-1 in a shootout on Sunday.

The Devils were comfortably beaten 6-2 at Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday but held their nerve to get back on track after Carl Hudson had levelled the game in the third period.

Belfast Giants remain level on points with Cardiff after beating Dundee Stars 5-4 in overtime, while Sheffield Steelers scored four first-period goals as they hit back to defeat Manchester Storm by the same scoreline.

Fife Flyers scored twice in the third period to earn a 2-0 victory over Braehead Clan.
