Alan Green: Storm clouds ahead for shot-shy Liverpool

Again, from afar, I’ve still paid some attention to Liverpool’s rocky start to the season. The Premier League results have been poor but supporters shouldn’t get too down too soon. Remember Arsenal in the last campaign?

What would worry me more if I was in their shoes was the abysmal failure to land another striker in the transfer window while allowing Andy Carroll to go on loan to West Ham.

What was that about? I appreciate that Carroll was unlikely to fit in with the new manager’s ‘tika-taka’ approach — which, by the way, will need a LOT of time to bed in — but leaving yourself short of players is inexcusable.

Also, I hear some shocking things about this forthcoming behind-the-scenes television series and not only about the handling of the dismissal of Kenny Dalglish.

There are pictures of the players meeting a psychiatrist during the tour in the States when she asked them to think of themselves as ‘cats’. Sounds of meowing ensued!

And Rodgers invited the camera into his own house, into the lounge, where there’s a portrait of himself hanging on the wall!

Graham Taylor would be a good man to consult on the wisdom or otherwise of allowing cameras to follow you around.
