Blues must build on victory

By Scott Young

Published 08/12/2015

Linfield beating Coleraine 1-0 at Windsor Park on Saturday was a big result for the Blues and of course David Healy.

The Linfield boss was under pressure having lost the previous four games.

Of course he has dealt with pressure all his football life, but this was different - this was as a manager.

At the final whistle he will have felt relief, joy and some satisfaction that his players, under intense scrutiny against an in-form side, stepped up to the plate.

It wasn't just the victory that will have pleased him. It will be the clean sheet and how his players battled for the result.

Going home to his family on Saturday night, he will have felt a whole lot better than in the previous month.

What David will be looking for now is the team building on the victory and going on a run of wins after the spell of defeats.

The bad run right at the start of his managerial career could actually work to David's advantage this season and long term. It could be the making of him at Linfield.
