David Healy: Berba’s here, so who can stop the Red Devils now?
Friday, 5 September 2008
Don’t know about you, but I was glued to Sky Sports on Monday night watching all the transfer moves develop on deadline day.
Obviously events at Manchester City made it even more exciting, though I was intrigued enough to see how Dimitar Berbatov’s move from Spurs to Manchester United would turn out.
I always thought it was a matter of when not if he made the switch to Old Trafford and that’s how it panned out with the deal being done just before midnight.
For Spurs, I reckon there might be a sense of relief that it is all over.
From what was coming out of Tottenham there was friction in the camp regarding Berbatov, so maybe it was best for all parties that he moved on to pastures new.
United certainly feel that way. They have got themselves a cracking player.
I know some people have suggested that Berbatov can be a bit sulky but I can’t see that being the case with Sir Alex Ferguson in charge.
Sir Alex has been looking for a striker and had pinpointed Berbatov as the one who fitted the bill.
And he normally gets his man, doesn’t he?
Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Berbatov. Mouthwatering for United. Hard to stop for everyone else.
