David Healy: I plan to start next Northern Ireland match

Last Saturday I watched the Northern Ireland game like a fan - on the sidelines hoping that the boys would do well.

I was obviously disappointed not to start against Serbia because I want to play every minute possible for my country.

That’s why I was pleased to get on in the second half.

There was no fall-out with manager Nigel Worthington about his decision.

Bigger and better players than myself have been on the bench at international level and I accepted it.

Having said that I am determined to be in the starting line-up for our next friendly early next year and our next qualifier in September.

I know I can still score goals in big games for Northern Ireland and believe I will do it in 2010.
