Leading riders gearing up for NW200 and Isle of Man TT showpieces

By Paul Lindsay

The official launches for this year's Isle of Man TT races and Vauxhall International North West 200 will take place on March 17 and 24 respectively.

The North West launch will follow a similar pattern to last year with press and media catered for between 4pm-6pm and an evening show in the iconic Titanic building for the general public, which proved a massive success last year.

An official announcement has yet to be made, but it is thought the general public will be able to reserve free tickets online for the Belfast launch on the official North West 200 website - www.northwest200.org.

The TT launch will take place at its traditional venue at the Villa Marina in Douglas and will be hosted by TT Television commentators James Whitham and Steve Parrish.

Both launch evenings will see a number of top riders and teams taking part. For the TT event on March 17, doors open at 7.30pm with tickets priced at £5 available from the Villa Marina box office.

Fans can tune in to the TT's Official YouTube channel (Official Isle of Man TT) with a live stream of the event available. You can also tweet your questions to riders via the twitter account @iom_tt.

Meanwhile, former Junior Manx Grand Prix winner and current Irish 250cc champion Michael Sweeney will make his Oliver's Mount debut at the Spring Cup on April 11-12.
