Give Brown a break, Aberdeen fans

Aberdeen, as you know, are the last Scottish club to win a major European trophy, way back in 1983.

But the achievements of a young Alex Ferguson and co are a distant memory now as the wily old fox Craig Brown, the former Scotland manager, tries to resuscitate a club that should be doing better than it has done in recent seasons.

After four ninth place finishes, Brown has built a squad that on paper looks as good as any other in the SPL bar Celtic.

Indeed the Dons were many people's tips to finish second behind the champions-elect.

Strangely, after they beat bottom team Dundee on Friday night there was booing from sections of the home support.

Agreed, it wasn't a spectacular performance, but last time I checked football was about winning!

Brown took over when Aberdeen were bottom. Progression has been made.
