Stephen Craigan: Bans stopping Kenny Shiels getting credit he deserves

It's hard to knock the tremendous job that Kenny Shiels has done at Kilmarnock since he became manager in the summer of 2011.

However he’s been getting the wrong headlines of late due to his on-going dispute with the Scottish FA and referees in particular.

Having recently returned from a three game suspension he now faces a fresh four game ban with the possibility of further sanctions to come after other comments attributed to him at the turn of the year.

I feel all this publicity is taking away from the fine job he is doing at Rugby Park and at times he’s maybe too open with the media immediately after games.

Mind you, having remained unbeaten during his last ban maybe it’s a ploy of his to get some more good results and climb the table!
