Stephen Craigan: Little concern for O’Neill

On current goalscoring form Andy Little may feel a little bit aggrieved that’s he hasn’t been included in the Northern Ireland squad to face Malta.

With Kyle Lafferty missing for the next two internationals there’s an opportunity for a player to stake a claim for future selection and with Little netting 16 goals so far this season for Rangers some may have thought he’d have been a possible candidate — but that won’t be the case.

Having watched Rangers on numerous occasions in Division Three I must say they have been rather unconvincing at times.

Andy will be delighted with his goals return though I'm sure even he will admit he needs to improve parts of his game.

The thing is I’m not sure if playing in SFL Three will actually improve his all round game. Yes, he will score goals and his confidence will rise, but at international level the opposition are a lot better and I’m guessing that’s the concern for Michael O’Neill.
