Brilliant Orfevre on rising Arc

All eyes will be on Paris tomorrow as the Arc dominates the racing programme.

The going is expected to be on the soft side as more rain is forecast for Longchamp and that will please the connections of Al Kazeem who needs a bit of cut and looks like being the only British challenger.

Trainer Roger Charlton is confident the triple Group One winner can end the season on the highest possible note but, after his second in the Irish Champion Stakes, appears to have a bit more to find against Europe and Japan's best.

After victory in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, followed by a Sandown Eclipse success, Al Kazeem was installed as favourite for tomorrow's race but is now as big as 14/1 having been beaten twice since then.

Orfevre, an unlucky Japanese loser last year, is 5/2 favourite to make amends.
