The Punter: Get in first at Ryder Cup with Graeme McDowell
Many eyes will be on Rory McIlroy, the youngest of the Ryder Cup players.
He is almost certain to start in a pairing with fellow Ulsterman Graeme McDowell in the opening fourballs and that is why the duo are priced at 5-2 to hit the first European ball.
Captain Colin Montgomerie will want the best possible start and no better way than a McDowell-McIlroy partnership.
But with McDowell being the reigning US Open champion, it is likely that young Rory will be happy to allow Graeme the honour.
Monty has said that he intends to use all 12 players on day one and that should make for some interesting prices as to who will take part in the initial fourballs for both teams.
Who will hit the first European tee shot?: 5-2 R McIlroy, G McDowell; 6-1 P Harrington, L Westwood; 10-1 M Kaymer, L Donald; 14-1 I Poulter; 16-1 MA Jimenez; 25-1 E Molinari, F Molinari; 33-1 R Fisher; 66-1 P Hanson.
