They aren't Town and out yet

Warrenpoint Town's resurgence has been unbelievable. I'm already starting to eat a little bit of humble pie as I thought they were gone a long time ago.

I never thought they had a chance of staying in the top flight but if they can pull off the great escape then what a story that would be.

Barry Gray's men have won five of their last six league matches and lost only one of their last nine games.

They are now off the bottom of the Danske Bank Premiership and putting their relegation rivals under more pressure.

I think the addition of Martin Murray from Cliftonville has been a masterstroke from Barry and he deserves a lot of credit for bolstering his squad and masterminding this recovery.

I thought they looked doomed but, although they still face a massive battle, they have now given themselves a fighting chance of survival which is an incredible achievement.

Carrick Rangers, with the uncertainty of their playing surface, are now having to dig deep - if you pardon the pun - and the momentum is with Warrenpoint at the moment.

Nothing surprises you in football but if Town can perform the great escape, they will deserve immense praise.
