Cricket: Ireland A plot the downfall of MCC

The Ireland A squad met up in Dublin last night ahead of today’s three-day game against MCC at College Park.

Albert van der Merwe, the winning captain at last month’s European Championships in Jersey, leads a team which includes five full internationals.

Meanwhile, the Ireland Under-15 side made a winning start in their bid to win the European title with a 89 runs victory over the hosts, Netherlands. They meet Scotland today.

The Under-17s begin their European Championship campaign against Jersey tomorrow at Milverton. Two junior NCU finals take place tomorrow with Lurgan facing Armagh at Derriaghy in the Quoile (Under-11) Cup at 1.30pm and Civil Service North meet Waringstown at Stormont (6pm).
