Donemana will have to beat the weather as their double tilt goes down to the wire

By Ian Callender

It is all set up to be another trophy-winning day for North West kingpins Donemana tomorrow.

Avoid defeat against Fox Lodge today and they can celebrate a second successive Senior Cup and Long's SuperValu Premiership double - although rain could yet wreck their ambitions.

All five remaining Premiership games, to be played (or not) over the next couple days are second and final attempts, but skipper Ricky-Lee Dougherty will want his side to finish the season in style with a 12th win in their 14th match.

Most observers expected the title race to be finished by now, but the champions were sensationally bowled out for 38 by Bready after 11 unbeaten matches, and that's why they still need another 10 points to confirm the league trophy will be staying in The Holm.

However, they bounced back to form by bowling out Drummond for 63 and, confidence restored, they will expect to finish the job at the team directly above Drummond and facing a relegation play-off unless they win at least one of their final two games - Fox Lodge are at home to the other remaining play-off candidates Ardmore on Sunday.

The complication which Donemana have no control over is the weather, and with only five points for a 'no result' in that eventuality they can be caught by Coleraine if they claim 46 points (out of 50) from their final two games at Brigade today and at home to Drummond tomorrow.

However, Brigade will not be giving up on the title either and, if Donemana slip up, they will be crowned champions with victory over the Bannsiders.

Ardmore take an 11 point lead over Fox Lodge into their final two games, the first of which is at Drummond, so they can condemn the Foxes to a play-off against Ballyspallen next weekend by winning tomorrow, assuming the Ballymagorry side do not cause the shock of the weekend against Donemana.

Long's SuperValu Premiership: Brigade v Coleraine, Drummond v Ardmore, Fox Lodge v Donemana. Sunday: Coleraine v Drummond, Fox Lodge v Ardmore

Championship: St Johnston v Bonds Glen, Strabane v Burndennett. Sunday: St Johnston v Glendermott.
