Irish boys unable to beat the weather in Ayr

Ireland's first match in the European Under-17 Challenge Series against Scotland in Ayr yesterday was abandoned without a ball followed because of a torrential thunderstorm in the area.

The teams were due to meet again today and in a Twenty20 match tomorrow.

The Irish won last week's three-match series against the Netherlands in Cork 2-1 with Waringstown's Adam Dennison scoring 106 in the most impressive performance of the week, when Ireland totalled 312 for nine and then dismissed the Dutch for 154.
