Key players missing for Ireland

Ireland are without a handful of key players for their forthcoming tour of Canada at the end of the month.

All-rounder Alex Cusack is ruled out of the trip which includes an Intercontinental Cup match and two one-day internationals, due to a long-standing muscular problem which requires surgery.

Niall O'Brien remains out with a finger problem, while captain William Porterfield and seamer Boyd Rankin will also stay at home as they are required by county employers Gloucestershire and Warwickshire.

Wicketkeeper Gary Wilson will miss the Intercontinental Cup match for similar reasons but has been released by Surrey for the ODIs.

Andre Botha and Phil Eaglestone have been passed fit for the trip, which Trent Johnston will captain.
