Gran Fondo 2016: Road closures for routes through Belfast to Strangford and the Mournes

Thousands of amateur cyclists are expected to attend this Sunday's Gran Fondo.

Setting off and returning to Titanic, the Gran Fondo - or big ride - will give cyclists free reign over hundreds of miles of closed roads mainly in Belfast and parts of Co Down.

There are two routes. One a mammoth 175km (109mile) round trip to the Mournes, the other a 58km - or 36mile - trip to Strangford.
